Welcome to familytree circles. I have been interested in my family history since I was young. I only wished I asked more questions and started my search then.
I suggest getting out a piece of paper and write down your name, then put your parents names, and then your grand parents names, etc. For the information that you do not know, ask your family or relatives for information. You can find on line forms that you can use to keep tract of each family. Look around your house for any records of your family.
You can go online or go to the library to find information about searching your family tree. You have to work your way back from each ancestor to make certain you have the right one in the right family. There are a lot of people that have the same names, but it is their parents names that connect them to the right family.
You can go to the census records, births, marriage and death records to confirm your information. Some of this information you may be able to find on line, or you may have to send away for the record. You may find yourself looking in grave yards for your relatives tomb stones.
We would love to help you in your search, but we need more information from you to assist you in your search. Keep in mind to keep living information private unless you know of that person, etc.
Hello Skyrim101 Have you got a family search site yet? I recommend to a new user this one. Roots Magic v7. It has a one off payment of $43aud and liaises with familysearch.org. Do join familysearch.org first as it is free. RM7 uses this and I have found so much while a member. You actually sign in with your family search id and p/w. Also wikitree is another extensive search site also free. A lot of help there. Being a young person RM7 is a very good site to start with. It is easy and your parents could help you in their spare time. Start with yourself and your parents with all dates and information that you can find. Put it in and away you go. Oh on the RM7 front page you go to file the down to familysearch central and choose someone to research. FS deals with deceased people. You will need it to help you in your research. Good luck.
