By the passing of the late Alderman John Pascoe on Saturday, Feb. 28, at the age of 63 years, Liverpool loses one of its most high-respected residents. Deceased was born in South Australla, and for the past 26 years had resided in Liverpool, being in charge of the local Water and Sewerage Board. About 6 years ago he met with a very serious accident, and since then had not been in the best of health. The deceased, who leaves his wife and grown-up family to mourn, was an alderman of Liverpool Council, and was well-known in Masonic circles. He was a member of the Grand Lodge Sydney, Lodge Liverpool 197, Lodge Temperance, Liverpool, 138, and a member of Manchester Unity I.O.O.F. for 48 years. The late Mr. Pascoe was very popular and the cortege (the largest seen in Liverpool for years) which followed him to his final resting place on Sunday afternoon, was eloquent testimony to the respect in which he was held. I have all this information was just wondering where you got Michael Pascoe's death from. We have been searching for many years and can't find any record of him after about 1904 when a warrant was put out for his arrest for desertion. He life his wife and children and was not heard of again. The reason we are looking for Michael Pascoe's death is that my mother, Jessie Eveline Amelia McAuliffe or Pascoe was born in 1907. We are trying to find out, which father my mother was from. I suppose it will be one of these family secrets that never gets solved. If you would like an invite to my tree, just let me know.

Denis McAuliffe (43), an ex-resident of Belmore-Street, Penrith, and since residing in the city, was run down by a train on Friday afternoon of last week, while he was working on the line as a fettler between Macdonald town and Redfern. His left leg was severed below the knee, and his head was injured. He was conveyed to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. Mr. McAuliffe is well-known in Penrith, where he resided for two years.

TRAM COLLISION IN CLEVELAND STREET. McAuliffe and another v Railway Commissioners. Two actions, one by May McAuliffe, and the other by her husband, Denis Matthew McAuliffe, were brought against the N.S.W. Commissioners for Railways, compensation being claimed by the wife for Injuries received in a tram accident in Cleveland-street on October 8, 1929. The female plaintiff was a passenger in a tram returning to her home in the evening, when a collision occurred, in which Mrs. McAuliffe was injured, receiving severe bruises and resultant nervous derangement. The wife claimed £1500 damages, and the husband claiming for loss of consortium, sued for £250. Mr. Noel Mcintosh (instructed by Messrs. Dawson, Waldron, Edwards, and Nicholls) appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr. Lamb, K.C., and Mr. Bradley (Instructed by the Solicitor for Railways) for the Commissioners, who admitted liability, but contested the action on the question of damages. The Jury assessed damages in this case for the wife at £138/11/11, and In the case of the husband at £85/5/.

Hi Vincent,
I have all this information was just wondering where you got Michael Pascoe's death from. We have been searching for many years and can't find any record of him after about 1904 when a warrant was put out for his arrest for desertion. He life his wife and children and was not heard of again. The reason we are looking for Michael Pascoe's death is that my mother, Jessie Eveline Amelia McAuliffe or Pascoe was born in 1907. We are trying to find out, which father my mother was from. I suppose it will be one of these family secrets that never gets solved. If you would like an invite to my tree, just let me know.

Run Down by Train
ACCIDENT TO EX-PENRITH RESIDENT.
Denis McAuliffe (43), an ex-resident of Belmore-Street, Penrith, and since
residing in the city, was run down by a train on Friday afternoon of last
week, while he was working on the line as a fettler between Macdonald town and Redfern.
His left leg was severed below the knee, and his head was injured.
He was conveyed to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
Mr. McAuliffe is well-known in Penrith, where he resided for two years.

TRAM COLLISION IN CLEVELAND STREET.
McAuliffe and another v Railway Commissioners.
Two actions, one by May McAuliffe, and the other by her husband, Denis Matthew McAuliffe, were brought against the N.S.W. Commissioners for Railways, compensation being claimed by the wife for Injuries received in a tram accident in Cleveland-street on October 8, 1929.
The female plaintiff was a passenger in a tram returning to her home in
the evening, when a collision occurred, in which Mrs. McAuliffe was injured, receiving severe bruises and resultant nervous derangement. The wife claimed £1500 damages, and the husband claiming for loss of consortium, sued for £250.
Mr. Noel Mcintosh (instructed by Messrs. Dawson, Waldron, Edwards, and
Nicholls) appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr. Lamb, K.C., and Mr. Bradley (Instructed by the Solicitor for Railways) for the Commissioners, who admitted liability, but contested the action on the question of damages.
The Jury assessed damages in this case for the wife at £138/11/11, and In the case of the husband at £85/5/.

Michael Pascoe's brother, Edward PASCOE was born on 4 April 1860 at Sandy Ck, South Australia. His father is registered as Michael PASCOE , and mother registered as Martha WILCOCK. (or WILCOX)
Edward Pascoe married Ann Jane SMILEY in 1887 in Sydney, Their children were
Ann, 1888; Edward J, 1890; Daniel, 1891; Ada, 1893; Grace, 1896; and Lilly 1896.
