There is also East Wemyss, West Wemyss in Fife and the Wemyss Castle was built around 1400's by Sir John Wemyss in East Wemyss and the castle is said to have a "Green Lady", also supposed to be the place where Mary, Queen of Scots met Lord Darnley in 1565
