I personally started doing my research by going to our local genealogy center that was located in our library. I wanted first to see my grandfather's name in print in the marriage or death book for our county. I learned a great deal from going through the census books cause I could trace my grandfather and his family and then his family all the way back to 1820 in the books then I went to different counties and I must say it gave me great insight as to where to start looking on the computer. The people at the genealogy center are ready to help me. I knew about my family but they knew how to do the research. And actually I met another person that was doing research and she told me that if put my 3rd or 4the great grandfather in on google.com then I may find some information. So I did and boy was I surprised. I think he had 10 pages or more and I was able to bring up his descendants page where it told me about his descendants and name the children and dates and it was just enlightening. So even if you don't know much about your family, I know that someone has already done a lot of research. So first put your great great grandfather in and put down born ??? and see what comes up. Then when you go to the library/genealogy center you will know something more about your family. I also have a site or two that I love to do research on but It is my best site so if you ever need help I will be here. Nsueturney60
