Ask the librarian at your local public library for help in obtaining the obituary if someone here is unable to find it through their online subscription. Microfiche still exists but perhaps the local library system or local universities have been working to digitize their holdings. Many libraries or local historical societies have decades of obituaries already on file.
Yes, i figured I'd have to go to Office of Vital Statistics. I'll probably have to try and do the same thing in Hart and Taylor counties for births. 40 miles away from each other. 80 m from here. It's just these .coms all advertise obits but can't seem to come across unless your're in their "premium program"...[$$$$] and that part of the web sickens me and seems to be the model for all things web based. Esp when on a fixed income. They redirect you over and over. I joined it mainly for the DNA test which has yet to come back, then found lots of folks on mothers side, but hardly nothing on fathers, other than census records.So i know the other records are out there. But that doesn't really matter, I was hoping for old photos of these people, I have a lot and thought someone would want to trade. Thanks. God bless.
