Info on Orphanages IN Maine

I am doing study and research on all orphanages that were in Maine from late 1800's - 1900's. I am looking for photos,roster of children, organizations,etc. that were instrumental in the creation of the orphanages,also when and why they closed. Am perticularly intrested in those that were in the Lewiston-Auburn area and in Portland.If you were a resident please tell me what you remember,your age at the time,etc. Thanks Franco
