I have been researching the Bardsley family for some time searching for my Husbands Grandfather Robert William Wilton who married Mabel Elizabeth Bardsley. Robert deserted a wife and 3 children in Australia during 1st world war

lshields on 2016-10-03 19:27:34Thank you for prompt reply, I already have all of the information you submitted but Robert was sacked by the Royal High Commissions, his wife died whilst he was in England and the 3 children were taken into care. He never returned to them and I am trying to find out what happened to him prior to marrying Mabel Bardsley. My Mother in Law searched for her Dad who seemed a loving Father judging by his many letters sent from England during WW1 to her.
