Information Re Jessie R Hastings
Have extensive information - His parents were Reggie and Mabel - My mother (still alive) knows a bunch about him and the family - she can tell many stories - now in her mid - 80's. I have a newspaper clipping regarding their deaths - there is a misprint or mistake by the reporter in that it reported that a brother Frank, took the baby to Dallas - It was my grandfather - Alexander Washington Hastings that took him to Dallas and later claimed to have adopted him - more on that later - he was raised by Newton Jerome Hastings and Sarah Emma Whitmire - Jessie's grandparents. Where do you live - thought maybe we could share info if you are in the Ellis or Dallas Counties area.

I live in Dallas. I also have a newspaper account from the Waxahatchie Enterprise dated Friday, Nov 13, 1914. It mentions that
brother Frank lived in Waxahatchie, but makes no mention of disposition of baby, Jesse. I am aware (from Census Records) that Jesse went to live with Newton and Sarah Emma Hastings, however.
At present, I'm researching Jesse after 1940 i.e; marriage to Laura
Mae Tipps; birth/death of Baby Hastings, 8 Jul 1941; divorce (?);
remarriage (?); birth of Mary Anne (?) 1945 (?).

Texas Birth Index shows name of mother of Infant Hastings d.8 Jul 1941 to be Lura Mae Gipps.
It's definitely Tipps - not Gipps. I found Mary Anne Hastings, b. 22 May 1944 in Dallas, TX; m. 29 Aug 1980 in Dallas, TX to Thomas A. Shaw, b.abt 1940.
