Information Regarding James and James Tarkeg Maynard

I am the ggggg-grandson of James Maynard the Rev. War soldier born in 1750 in Wilkes Co. NC. He was a member of the roaring river Baptist church. His 2nd wife was Chaney Smith. His grandson James "tarkeg" Maynard was a veteran of the war between the states. He was a scout for the union army. More correctly he was in Thomas Damrons company the 167th home guards militia. He was murdered by confederate marauders on August 6th 1862.
