Interested IN Sharing Research on the Hood Family

I would like to share information regarding the Hood Family who came to America from Halstead England in ABT. 1638, Lived in and around Nahant and Lynn Mass and move west to Illinois and Iowa during the Civil War, John H G Hood is my Great Grandfather he was born in 1838 and served in the Union Army, 7th Calvary Regiment, Company B. He lived in Iowa from 1866 after mustering out of the service til his death in the late 1890's or early 1900's. He was an artist and lived in Panora Iowa as well as Carol and Buena Vista Iowa. He was Married to Harriet A M Lewis.
