Introduction to Michael Gollaher

I am Michael Monroe Gollaher, born in 1953 and now retired from the Army of the United States. I have recently moved three miles to the SW, and live near SW Boise and Southern Meridian in Idaho. My family comes from Idaho and Utah in the not too distant past. My great (x 6) grandfather, William Culbertson Gollaher, helped settle Tooele, Utah as a Mormon pioneer in about 1850. The family lived in Tooele County and Levan and Idaho for several generations, then many moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. My father left Salt Lake City for Boise, Idaho when I was twelve, and except for the Army I have been here ever since.

I married my wife near Fort Hood, Texas in 1976. Killeen, in Bell County. I met her at the old Darnall Army Hospital on base where I then served as a physical therapy specialist (enlisted). I am old and retired now, having served in several conflicts as a medical service corps officer and public affairs (media relations) officer. I volunteer at the Boise LDS (Mormon) Family History Center near the Boise, Idaho LDS temple. I would be happy to assist anyone who asks!

UPDATE: We have moved two-three miles to the Southwest and our new address is 5248 S Staaten Avenue off of Cloverdale and Willandra Rds. I no longer serve at the Family History Center. I think the nearer town is Meridian, Idaho.
