Nathaniel was b. abt. 1810 NY and m. Sally before 1830. Isaac and Nathaniel may have been brothers or cousins. Both are believed to have migrated from eastern NY around the time that the Erie Canal was completed 1826-1830. After research in Lockport NY and Monroe MI, no clues exist regarding the parents or siblings of Isaac and Nathaniel.

Nathaniel disappeared with his wife Sally from census documents after 1840, after assigning his properties to his children, Isaac ROGERS and Sylvester HATHAWAY between 1840 and 1852. Interestingly, Isaac's last son by Julyette, Isaac R. ROGERS [b.1852] and four mining partners were never seen in census docs after 1880 in Ophir CO.

It appears that Isaac and Nathaniel had a long friendship with Sylvester Richmond HATHAWAY, son of Isaac & Elizabeth HATHAWAY since they seem to have moved from the Lockport area to Monroe County MI at the same time. Isaac Rogers named his 3rd son George Hathaway ROGERS.
