Still seeking information for SULLIVAN, Arthur Daniel, (deceased) born Waihi, AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND, about 1906. Arthur, the son of Daniel Sullivan, came to Australia and married my grandmother, Janet Ramsay McCord. Their daughter Ruth (Deborah) Sullivan (1932-2000) is my mother. I would love to hear from anyone in New Zealand who knew my grandfather, ARTHUR SULLIVAN, or his family.

Janet spelt her name "Jannette" on her wedding certificate, so Janet may be phonetic spelling for G'net (as in George, not jam). Janet was an ingenious seamstress and a very clever cook. She had her own dress shop called "Jannette's" in a town not far from Cessnock, NSW. Whenever people dropped in on her she didn't just put the kettle on, she put the oven on and cooked up a feast as she chatted with them. She knew everyone's favourites - mine were chocolate butterfly cakes. If you know what they are you must be as old as I am - getting on! Janet loved sailing to Japan on the Oriana. Does anyone remember Janet, or her husband, Arthur?
