My Gr gr.grandfather(Jeremiah Jerome )was born in Windsor. His father was also called Jeremiah but I am not sure of his birthplace or parents
Do you know if anyone is researching the same line?

In the UK 1851 Census There is a Jeremiah Jerome aged 72 born c 1779 in Eton, Berkshire. He is a Pauper in the Workhouse in Upton-cum-Chalvey he is a Staymaker. There is also another Jerome there: Thomas Jerome aged 73 born c 1778 also a pauper born in Berkshire a Shoemaker. I don't know where you live but Eton, Windsor and Chalvey are very close together

Thankyou for your help
The Jeremiah in the 1861 census is definitely my gr.gr grandfather .
His father is the Jeremiah in the workhouse in 1851 and I am now looking for the next generation back. I am wondering now if Thomas Jerome is related to Jeremiah Jerome. The surname isn't so common

OK the next generation back is the 1841 Census (which is the first in UK). The family were living at Brocas Street, Eton (Oh that brings back memories to me) Jeremiah Jerome born 1781 Buckinghamshire, no wife so he may have been a widower; John 1821, Buckinghamshire, Jeremiah 1826 ? Bucks ; his twin Mary ; and another set of twins Edward & Charles 1831 Bucks.
