John Alexander

Journal by FamilyTwigs

I am having trouble finding John H. ALEXANDER. At least his death date. I do have his year of birth, 1803. His father was Thomas, a revolutionary war veteran who moved from Pennsylvania to Southern Indiana. John himself was born in Kentucky or Southern Indiana, different sources say different things. He first married Judah NORTHERN, December 25, 1828. Then he married a woman who went by the name of Frankie LUCAS. She was once married to a Joel LUCAS and I believe widowed. Her maiden name was Mary Frances CARTER. She was born somewhere in Kentucky. She and John had 5 children; Charles, John, Isaac, Mahala, and Louisa. They lived in Jackson County, Indiana at that time.
A researcher has said that John died in Missouri, but I have been unable to find that. I do have a lead though.
His death would have occured sometime between 1860 and 1869.
His son John is my direct ancestor.

In my family tree, Joel LUCAS b. ~1864, son of Thomas (b. ~1831) and Eliza Jane, married Mary F McPIKE. They had three known children: Howard, b 1890, Hettie, b. 1892, and my ggfather Hugh Andrew LUCAS Sr, b. Aug 20 1900. I do have a Mary F married to a Joel LUCAS in my tree, but my time frames are about 50 years later than yours, so I don't think they match up. Jackson County, Indiana is the right location, though. Do our trees match at all?
