John (Jack) Harley, son of George Harley and Sophia Stewart, born 1857 Cupar Scotland married Marion Biggs 1881. Eldest child, daughter Jeanette, born 1881. Immigrated to Queensland Australia 1883, arriving Maryborough Queensland 1884. Infant son George died during the voyage. Family settled Mingo Crossing, between Gayndah and Mount Perry. Other children included sons John, James, John James, Thomas and George (who survived to adulthood) and daughters Marion Dora and Dora Marion. John worked as railway guard. In 1889 John was charged with wife dessertion and remanded in Childers. Seems to have gone to Cloncurry area and worked as a miner. To date, only known record of John's death is Queensland State Archive's intestacy file for son John. Mother Marion as NoK stated that husband/father John died Cloncurry (Qld) 1912.
Any help to confirm details of John's death, funeral, burial would be appreciated.
