John BROWN of Hampton, NH

Journal by joepete5349

Hello everyone,

I am fairly new to genealogy although I have been researching my paternal and maternal ancestry for about four years. I have a stuck point that others researching John Brown have. It appears that his history is mingled together with other John Browns who migrated to the colonies during "The Great Migration." Many have John Brown as the son of Sottish parents who lived in London. Some state that his father was Angus Browne without any documentation to back that claim up. I did find some information about Angus Browne listed in a family tree 11th generation born in Fife, Scotland in 1563 to a John Browne; again with no documentation. No mention of the mother or when he migrated to London, England.

According to a number of family tree sites John Brown was born in London, London, England abt. 1589 and migrated to Salem, Massachusetts on the ship Elizabeth in 1635 along with Sarra or Sarah Walker, her brother and William Brasey a draper from Cheapside in London. I have not been able to verify any of this information. He died in Hampton, NH abt. 1687 at the age of 91. If anyone has information with sources I would greatly appreciate hearing from you.

I am also researching the Jalbert (Gerbert) family, The Healey's, Ledfords and Ensley families.

Best Regards,

Joseph
