Was arrested for burgulary and tried in 1844 in Saint Helier, Jersey, Channel Islands this is when his name changed to Burridge. Transported to Norfolk Island on the 'David Malcolm' arrived in Norfolk Island on the 10 September 1845. On Surgeon's Report states,known as BURRIDGE, John or BOWDIGE. The next year he was transported to Hobart Town on the 'Franklin" arriving there on the 30 August 1846.
