John Cobb of Taunton Line

I know I have Burton Cobb-my gram-mar-Ethel Knight.Im searching to find WHERE they originateed from?Harriet Proctor-ggram from Ontario Canada-mar Peter Knight-ggramp,from maine guess. Id like to find out who their parents were & where from????Janet

Dear Janet,
In my listings, no Burton Cobb or Proctor. I have a Mary Ann Knight m 16 Dec 1846 to Charles Cobb b 17 Oct 1822;d 21 Oct 1822. Charles goes straight back to John Cobb of Taunton b 1604; d 18 Nov 1691.
Mary Ann Knight's father: Jonathan Knight; mother Betsy Parker.
These Cobbs seem to have settled in Westmoreland, NH, other cousins stopping there and moving on to Vermont after the Revolution. Maine Cobbs may be a whole different clan, either out of Boston or Salem/Cape Cod(Henry of Barnstable).

William H, Gardner's bro-ancient feud never mentioned or discussed-maybe about land??
Gilbert H parents: Gardner & Anna (annie) Israel
Gardner parents: Hanover & Sally Day (not Cole);parents Samuel-Silence

Can find info on my tree @ Ancestry.com; more at gedcom "Maybe Cobbs from Kent" though DNA now definitively separates Befdordshire Cobbs from Reculver, Kent. So far cannot get earlier than William 1443.

I think you're on the track, but there's a privacy etiquette about living family memberrs & I really don't have permission to fill you in on any names or dates that you cannot find in public records. Samuel & Silence had many(!) children. I have these in another format and will provide when I get my lazy self together if you wish
