John Galbraith

can you give his spouse or parents?
more names and dates make things easier

All I know is that he was my Grandmothers partner and they had four children together, from 1902 to 1909 and I think it was in Wellington or Wanganui. I do not know his parents names sorry
It may be that he was married at the time - I did see in Papers Past that he intended to marry my grandmother, but don't think they ever did. Her christian names were Ellen Lucy

Yes, they were registered as their christian names with Galbraith Jennings at the end......Their mother was Mrs Jennings when they were born, but separated from Mr Jennings and living with John Galbraith

I found them under the name of Ellen's 2nd husband's name
- she remarried in Oct 1919 but not to Mr Galbraith
her daughter (from her 1st marriage) married in Dec 1919 (her first marriage)

further research could possibly find out what happened to John Galbraith but unfortunately, not without some dates (or family knowledge of him) as there are far too many of that name to narrow him down

Yes they were born when Mr & Mrs Jennings were separated and she was living with John Galbraith- but she gave them the Jennings surname even though he wasn't their father- John Galbraith was the father

Ellen's first husband was a Mr Watts, then came Mr Jennings, the partner John Galbraith, then George Codd

OK thanks- who did she marry? So she got married the same year as her Mother remarried- I know that Mr Jennings had custody of her from a very young age-Does she have any living relatives? BTW where are you finding this info??

(6 days before the date of her previous marriage)

Ellen Louisa Charlotte Annie was born in 1900 to Ellen Lucy and Alfred Daniel Jennings, Ellen was my grandmother!!!!! So we must be related? Love to have a chat with you sometime......Judy
