John Harris OR Harries from Raphoe Convoy County Donegal

i am new to this research/quest

I have managed to trace my family line back to the birth of my Grandfather's grandfather - Robert Harris, born in Raphoe, County Donegal Ireland.

He was married in 1855 to Rebecca Jenkins and died on the 7th of March 1919 in County Tyrone.

He had nine children with Rebecca.

his occupation was that of a farmer, he owned his own land in an area called urney ( in County Tyrone)

I have now obviously turned my attention to his father....who name was John Harris or possibly Harries.

This is all i have to go on i am desperarte to find John and to see what and who he leads onto.

i am keen to estavblish if the family came from Scotland ( or Wales as i strongly suspect) any advice/information or advice that could be rendered would be greatly appreciated.
