John Johns B 1811 Penzance Cornwall England D 1894 Brighton Vic Australia Married Ann Goodfellow 1840 She was B 1812 Cornwall D 1822 Brighton
My name is Marilyn Andre and I am researching my daughter in law Vanessa's family tree. I cannot go back further that what I have above, John Johns . He and his family migrated to Australia in 1849 but I do not have his father or mother's name, what he did etc. This also applied to Ann, although I do have her parents name James Goodfellow and Elizabeth Eason.
Hoping someone can help me go further........Marilyn

Thank you very much, it certainly has put a start to the Journey.
Been searching the Cornwall Baptism records for a John JOHNS with the father named Alexander but not having any luck. It's a shame the informant could not name his parents when he died in 1894.
If I'm reading the records correctly Ann died 1882 in Brighton, Victoria, aged 70 years. The informant for her death named her parents as James JOHNS and Elizabeth GOODFELLOW.
I'm curious to know where you obtained the name of Ann's mother as Elizabeth EASON to assist with further searches.
Good morning and once again thank you for helping me. I maybe on the wrong track as it came from Ancestry. I have the father James Goodfellow b 1786 Nottingham, Nottinghamshire d: unknown married Elizabeth Eason (b: 1780) on 19 Apr 1811 Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England. I have not been able to go back any further. I also have Ann Goodfellow/Johns death certificate which states parents "James" married Elizabeth James formerly Goodfellow. I have the marriage of Ann Goodfellows to John Johns married 1840 - yet their first two children were born out of wedlock. Resource: Cornwall, Vol 9 Page 274. (This also came from Ancestry) Hoping you can help. Marilyn
