Hello Muppets Just by chance |I was chasing up some Lammas family history and came across your posts. I have done extensive research on the Lammas family, in direct lineage (no twigs, just branches, largely) and all this is memorialised in a self published book Part 1 (part 2 was the Christoffersen, Hawkes Bay connection). I sent a copy of my book (The Sum of Us) to the Nelson Museum (or library) several years back. I suspect you are in the Manawatu area. The former Police Supt Mark Lammas (a friend of mine)is distantly related. Thanks for you response. Mark Lammas is Paul's cousin and now lives in Australia. Mark's brother David was also in the police force. I will try to find a birth date for John Lammas. Can we get a copy of your book from anywhere.
I have found two John Lammas with birth dates of 1763 and 1765. The latter died in 1838 and was married to Elizabeth (Taylor) Lammas but I cannot find a marriage date. The first John had parents Richard and Elizabeth. Hope this helps. We also have a John Lomas that we believed to have started off the Lammas name but cannot find any foundation for this.
