John Lynds Died IN Australia 7 2 1896 Do You Know of Him
John was the first husband of Emma Stent - they married in New Zealnad and had 4 children. He was born 1-10-1844 and he died somewhere in Australia in 1896. Do you know of him, or heard of him, I would like to know when he arrived in Australia - it would have been after 1874, when his 4th child was born - and where abouts he stayed. His wife Emma went on to marry Charles Stent and have another 16 children.!!
For the record - John LYNDS returned to NZ after working in Australia for about 11 years. He left Manawatu just after their fourth child was born (4/5/1876) as he signed the papers although Harry Herbert STENT was registered as a STENT not a LYNDS.
John worked in Auckland and didn't let on to his parents that he was married or had children. Died at age 52 years (7/2/1896) in nOnehunga Auckland and Emma was advised of this a few years later and then married Charles STENT (28/6/1904) much to her families discust because she had been such a hard conservative mother who always told her daughters to keep their knickers on!!
