I have also found out recently that John Griffith's father's name was Jefferson, and that he came from Kentucky and lived in Indiana a few years before getting to Jackson Co., Missouri. John's mother's name is also in the census, but can't quite be made out. Emily,(above)was my great-grandmother.

Nancy is recorded as being a Indian... they are buried in Mansker Cemetry in Randolph county Illinois... Nancy and william had a daugheter name Louisa Elizabeth Griffith B: 18 mar 1858 randolph county ILLLINOIS, married William Thomas Phillips B: 1 nov 1857 - D: aug 1934 Louisa D: in 1924 In Perry county Missouri; she is buried in PRESTON CEMETRY, perryville, perry county Missouri... they are my ggrandparents...

I believe you may have put two families together. Louisa F. Griffith married Levi Phillips. Griffith is common name. Let's help each other.
