Noticed your request was from a couple of years ago. Mr. Carter was actually from Union SC. He moved to Mtn. Rest somewhere around 1910 or 1915 timeframe. His grandfathers name was Vandyne Carter but off hand can't remember his father's name. Might have been Churchill. I had some of the info and not sure where it is right now.
Since this posting, I have found most of the information, that I was looking for. If you don't mind me asking, are you related to Mr. Carter? Whereas, I am his Great, Step-Grand Daughter. Look forward to hearing from you. Beth
