Thomas Simeon Johnson married Martha Q. Bennett. Lived in
Appling County, Georgia...He was a "last call" volunteer
in the Civil War...Served as a prison guard in Savannah, Georgia.
Martha was given some land by her father on the Satilla River...Don't know if the land was deeded to her or both. Cannot locate Thomas Simeon Johnson or Martha Q. Bennett. No documentation on these two.
...first son, Thomas William Johnson, born 20 Sept. 1861, died 10 Oct. 1942 in St. Clair Co., Alabama.
First wife: Ellen Douglass (no children) died in Fla.
Second wife: Willie D. Baldwin, born 22 Jan 1885, d. 13 Feb 1937
Children: Lawrence Thomas Johnson, b. 09 Jan 1903
Willie Lee Johnson, b. 04 Aug 1905
Oscar Howard Johnson, b. 16 May 1907
Wesley Kyle Johnson, b. 22 July 1908

Please remove this posting. I have had Y-DNA testing done. "Thomas Simeon Johnson" & "Martha Q. Bennett" names DO NOT pertain to these people. There was a name change, and the surname "Johnson" is only relevant to Alabama from 1895 forward. There never was a Thomas Simeon Johnson. Family tales have incorrectly thought this was the name of our ancestor. That is FALSE. DNA has proven fact from rumor.
