"Thelma Brim Gambles" Downey - Funeral services for Thelma Brim Gambles, 50, will be conducted in the Swan Lake ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints tomorrow at 1 p.m. with Bishop Lionel Merrill officiating. Burial will be in the Swan Lake cemetery under direction of the Benson mortuary. Friends may call at the family home in Swan Lake from this evening until time of the services tomorrow. Mrs. Gambles was born at Downey on Sept. 22, 1904, the daughter of Eliza Coffin and Joseph A. Brim. Her early lie was spent at Cambridge where she attended grade school. She attended Downey high school and Albion State Normal school. She was a teacher in Swan Lake and in 1921 on Dec. 24 she was married to George R. Gambles at Logan. She was active in civic affairs and church, having served as president of the Relief Society for nine years, president of the MIA for one year and counselor of the primary for one year. She also was a teacher in these organizations for a number of years. Mrs. Gambles died on Saturday morning after a stroke the evening before. Survivors are five sons and three daughters. Theron B. Gambles, Downey, Mrs. Barbara Luke, Burley; Milton B. Gambles, Soda Springs; Mrs. Lois Kent, Malad; Phil R. Gambles of Swan Lake and Harry R. Gambles, Japanese mission. Six grandchildren survive and two brothers and two sisters, Willis L. Brim, Downey, Harry Brim, Syracuse, N.Y; Lula Brim Stevenson, Raymond, Alberta, Canada; and Margaret Brim Nelson, Pocatello.
