Just Looking Period

I am searching for my family roots from all sides of the plate. I keep getting stuck, like there is no information past a certain point. There are Osborne's from West Virginia,and Robert's from Tennessee on my father's side. There are Greene's from Oaklahoma to Tennessee, and Selvidge's in Knoxville, Tennessee. There are Marley's and Bowerman's. If anyone has any information for me on any of these family names and places it would be a great help.

The goal for me in all this is to know not only where I come from, but to know there IS family to me out there. I have no brother's, no sister's, and a total of three cousins that I know about.
