When I went north , around the Bay of Islands ,in my early days of research, I was surprised to learn that many of people I met , only knew a small amount of knowledge on their older part of their Maori Ancestry . To assist them to have an ancestry chart they can refer to at will ( & to learn /pass on ) I have put in this journal my knowledge of the Maori ancestry in this area ,which I gathered from many " Matuha's " who were gracious in inviting me to their homes , to stay and eat their kai with them & tell me their ancestory . ( In them doing that , it made me recall , How our ancestor , John Samuel Edmonds & family were kept alive , by a great race of people ,supplying them with food . A great tradition they still do today in a part of NZ called
" Northland "

One of the interesting points in this journal is the blending with the European , making them genuine " Kiwi's , and to be as one -- a New Zealander . I hope this Ancestral chart assists many who are out there ,who may not of known their wakapapa / ancestery.
