Anderson's parents Hugh A [John & Betsey Morgan Quinn, had 10 children]and Levina Hood [John & Sallie Austin Hood] Quinn, were farmers & came to Ashville, St Clair Co Al from York Co, SC and Green Co, GA respectively by 1820. They married 8 August 1820. 3 Quinn siblings md 3 Hood siblings: Cecily md William Hood. Elizabeth md Ausborn Hood 20 Dec. 1821.
They had 5 Children. Anderson & Vina are buried in Hopewell Cemetery as are son Robert and wife Sarah Roland Quinn. Anderson is the oldest child and married Sarah Payne 14 July 1841 in Jefferson Co, AL. Anderson served in the Civil War Pvt AL Conf 48th Reg Infantry, Co K. Their oldest child of 14, Vina was b Sept 1842 Short Creek, Jefferson Co& md Jim Mauldin. Daughters Minerva Elizabeth and Melissa married brothers: Daniel and James J Short born Monroe GA, MS Territory [Daniel and Mary ? Short].

Yes what you've shared is my information & basically correct. I have not proven Levina Hood's parents were John & Sallie Austin HOOD. A William Hood is a candidate for her dad also.
I think Sarah Payne's dad was William Payne, but no proof yet.
Malissa Jane Quinn md James Jefferson Short. He an William Payne were famous Warrior River Pilots. A William Payne is next 1850 Walker Co, AL census entry after Hugh & Vina Hood Quinn & family. Age wise he is probably Sarah's brother..

This is my family. Anderson Quinn is my great great great grandfather. My mom. My mom remembers the Hood Familt tree pretty well. I can ask her about the parents of Levina Hood as she is in our family tree.
