Loking for O'GRADY, HYNES, New Zealand/Ireland, WATSON, HUDSON, JONES Australia/England

Journal by LeoneIrene

Just started searching my family and having great fun.

Would appreciate any information on the O'Grady, Hynes family, they migrated to New Zealand in the 1869's. My gg/father was Patrick O'Grady who was married to Bodelia Hynes.

Also researching my Grandmother's family, her maiden name was Elsie Irene Watson, daughter of Charles Augustus Watson, born Forforshire,
Scotland in 1859, and Clarissa Hudson, born in Newcastle, NSW. This family has a varied past, including Job Hudson, who was lost at sea (jumped overboard) in 1848. It has been difficult finding inform about him.

As I am new to this any heop would be appreciated.

Re Job HUDSON : deaths at sea are usually registered at the next or nearest port. There may be a register of "deaths at sea" in Australian archives. You could search the ship he was on for newspaper reports of the voyage - also check passenger lists to see if he was traveling with other family. There was probably a coroner's inquest also.
You could search here for Clarissa, if you know some details of her parents or about when she was born. Use a less is more information approach maybe just searching with parents surnames etc.
Without some clearer information, it is a bit difficult to help. Keep on digging!
