Elsie was born 1904 in Fremantle, Western Australia, and was last known living in the Wandana Flats, Curtin, Subiaco, Perth in 1980. According to the electoral rolls. She divorced her husband Avon (Locke ) Rowland in the 1950s, he remarried but it appears no contact was kept afterwards
Her son John was born 1942 and was living with her till 1968 and then in 1972 was living 7 Gibney Avenue, Glendalough, Mount Hawthorn, Perth. No record of him exists on Australian electoral rolls after this.
Elsie's parents, brother and daughter were cremated and their ashes scattered at Karrakatta Cemetery, but have checked and Elsie and John are not there.

Reason for interest, Elsie's brother Norman Dunn died in a WW2 plane crash in the UK in 1943. A memorial was created for the crew and I have traced close relatives of all the crew bar Norman. He was a famous guitarist playing with the ABC Band, and had played with Larry Adler and Fats Waller. I did find a 1st cousin who hadnt ahd any contact with the family since about the time of his death. I did find a fellow Air Force trainee and a lady who used to sing with him, but they knew nothing of his family.
My fear is that both Elsie and her son are deceased, but have not been able to find any information to confirm this. There was another brother, Eric but know he died in 1986. The memorial was unveiled in September 2013 and have been looking all this time
Hi did you find any information. I know this is an old post. I am descendant from Avon Roy Mitchell Rowland second wife. And have also been looking for info on the family. And where my half uncle may be. I did find info that Elsie Charlotte may have died in 1980 but can not be certain.

I made a register of all the burials at Denmark cemetery a couple of years ago. At time of compiling, burials were to June 2018.
It is searchable by Date, Grave Number and Alphabetical Order.
Locke is there, but he appears to be the only Rowland.

John Mitchell Rowland emigrated to Canada, possibly in the 1970s and believe he may have died in 2012. Now know his wife was called Janice Elicia Rowland who was from England, thanks to Mel Constable above who found this. Now to try and trace her, still no clue what happened to Elsie though
Have now established that John did pass away in Canada in 2012, and his mother had emigrated to Canada in the 1980s, where she died. I traced Janice Elicia Rowland to England, so have got somewhere now
