I am looking for any family menber(s) of this family. Ada was married to Francis Roy Harwood, they had two sons - Roy Birnie Harwood, and Raylow Harwood. They divorced and I thought that it appropriate to enter them in our family tree. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

hello to you both,

don't have a great deal on Ada at this time but a little on Roy

Ada was base born to Emily Stringer (1886-1968) on 20 Sep 1901

Emily was 1 of at least 7 children of Alfred Waldon STRINGER & Sarah Ann GLOVER. Alfred Stringer was born in Walsingham, Norfolk and was in Wanganui before 1870

Emily Stringer married John McQueen on 7 June 1911

Ada married Roy Francis Harwood (1902-1971) on 26 July 1926
Roy was born 8 April 1902 in Whangarei to Francis Herbert HARWOOD from Banks Peninsula & Rose Baldwin who was born on board the 'Pleione' in 1880. Roy was Gunner 20196 in WWII with the Taranaki Regiment, he gave his particulars as a cook living at 18 Tole street, Ponsonby, Auckland & his next of kin was his wife Ada living at Princes Street extension, Hawera.
Roy next married Margaret Hazel ADDIS (1921-1978) and had 6 children. Frances died 20 Sep 1971 in Hawera & is buried in plot 4016, Eltham RSA section

Hi Guys, it appears there may be a bit of a gremlin at work here. My information shows that Ada was born in 1873 to Edwin Stringer and Ann Mawson, she married Roy Francis Harwood [Born 1903, died 1971] in 1926. The age discrepancy could be an issue but it might also explain why Roy married again. No doubt there will be some clarity in due course. Peter
