There's so many John Allen's in Queensland. I thought a John and Violet electoral roll may hold a clue.
Yes that's the one, and yes my mum's name was Josephine Griffin. Just to clarify, Peter's father (my grandfather) was Henry John ALLEN, not ELLEN. There was a story that his real name was Sir Henry Havelock-Allen, however I can't verify that.
John died in Brisbane approx 1974 and was survived by his de facto wife. He apparently had 2 or 3 wives at the same time.(bigamist)
