Yes this is all true. I am trying to find out if there are any descendants of said Charles Guthrie Barrett still living in the USA. If there are I would like to hear from them. Charles & Margery BARRETT had 14 children. Three of the girls were unmarried so no children. Percy lived and died in sth Africa and has one grandson and great grandson living in the UK........where are all the rest of the family?? Coline

He is on the 1871 Census Charles Guthrie is away at School and I can find his father and sister Margery. Margery is with her mothers sister in Kensington and some of the children are with father Charles at Agar Villa Agar Road in Truro.
Mother Margery died 1870 aged 39 and on 1881 Census and it looks like Charles the father has married Francis H. born 1840 Truro, can't find a marriage for these two.
On 1901 three daughters living with them Fanny, Mary & Irene.
On Charles (Senior) death in 1906 probate will is made to Francis Harriett Barrett, widow, of Truro.
You could try tracking the BMD's for some of his siblings you may find some relatives still living.
Thank you A Sheppard. I know all about his English side of the family but wondered if he was married in the USA and had any children. Sadly I do not know when he arrived there. When I have more time I will look into the ship passenger lists which headed for the states. I think he died before his father as he wrote about his death in the wonderful faMILY bible that is owned by my 1/2 brother who is the Gt Grandson on CHarles & Margery. I am very good at tracing people throught our system but not sure how to go about it in the States. Wonderful golf by the way!!!!!! Keeps us up too late to watch the end!! Coline

and a birth and death for a daughter Greta born 1906 died 1915 Pennsylvania.
I don't know how you can obtain copies of certificates from US I have a few of my own I would love to get, but can't seem to find out how to obtain them.

Looks like there are a couple of Charles G Barrett in US around the same time. I did see the Philadelphia death listed in 1901 it could be him but it may not be.
