I am Searching for information on my grandfather (Nikolas,Nicholas,Nickolaus Kauten and his family.
Not sure, Nicholas had any siblings. I believe he is from a village name either ?Temmeshau or Demmeshau We were told that he came from a wealthy family. That there is a street name after his family -Kauten Street.
My grandfather was 21 year old when his came to America, He was born July 15, 1890 in Hungary, Germany Nicholas came to America in 1911 at the age of 21.Nicholas work as a paperhanger/painter.
Died in Baltimore City, Maryland March 11, 1959.
Nicholas got marriage to his first wife Margaret on Sept 31, 1914
At Rogers Memorial Methodist Church.

They had a 4 year old daughter name Betty (not sure if she was Nicholas daughter or not)
Nicholas Remarried on January 3, 1918 to his second wife Elizabeth Mooss
Elizabeth Mooss was 22 years old and Nicholas Kauten was 28 years old.
Born on April 18, 1896 in (not sure were Elizabeth was born it was eight St Andrar Hungary, Austria Germany or Austria, Hungary), she had a sister name Julie she lived in Philadelphia, Pa Elizabeth came to America in 1911 at the age of 15 she was sponsored by the Seybold family, Aunt Lena and George and their son George. Elizabeth told us that she was their nanny for them. She also worked for a sewing factory, until she got a needle through her finger. Then she worked as a maid for the wintermitz family in Pikesville. She met Nicholaus while working for the wintermitz family. Nicholas was doing some paper hanging work for them
