Looking for Any Information on the Oates Family IN NC Before 1800

What specifically are you looking for? My side Oates family is from Kings Mountain, Gaston, North Carolina. I can trace it back to about the mid to late 1700s. Originally from Ireland, John Oates and Frances Reid Oates traveled to Pennsylvania. My research shows that they died in Pennsylvania, but their son John Oates III died in North Carolina. All of his children, I believe, were born in North Carolina. If I can find exactly when they came to North Carolina I will pass along the information.
