Mary Elizabeth BASHUM married Lewis TACKETT abt. 1791, probably in Kanawha Co., VA. During the Civil War, West Virginia was formed and this county was included in the new state. The undocumented information I have is that her father's name was James. The family of their son Martin were victims of the Mountain Meadows Massacre in 1857, near St. George, UT. Interestingly, there was a man named BASHAM who also died in the tragedy. It is possible this man was an uncle or cousin of the TACKETT family.
