Looking for Beard of Michigan

Hi there, I have both a Beard grandmother and great grandparents from Michigan. My grandma was Mabel and her parents were Nelson and Carrie. I've been to Boon MI where they lived and found a grave yard with my great grandparents buried there along with some other Beards that I don't recognize he names of. Who are you looking for?

Vilorus and Zack Beard were brothers. Vilorus was Born in 1854 and Zack in 1859. I am trying to trace backwards. They came from NY, but I'm not sure if they were born there or came from England, Ireland, or Scotland. There father was George born in 1834. They owned land in Kalamazoo county and have a Beard graveyard. You can look up Beard Cemetery on the web and see if you reconize any of the names. Joel

I hope this isn't too late and you've already figured out who the parents of Nelson and Carrie (Beard) were. I noticed that you posted a photo of Nelson Beard on Ancestry.com but I didn't have the subscription to view the photo.

My 3rd great-grandfather on my father's side is Linson Beard Jr., who was Nelson's brother. Nelson came to Michigan a little bit later than Linson and Edgar (both older brothers) and moved to Wexford County rather than Cascade Township (where the rest of the Beard family moved). Linson Beard Sr. was their father and Anna B. Hawley their mother. Linson's side of the family goes back pretty far, but I haven't turned up much on the Hawley's.
