Looking for Braithwaites Origin Yorkshire

My husbands Father was 63 when my husband was born in 1941. His name was Harold,(he had a brother called Harry) he spent some of his life in the Merchant Navy and some in the mines, at Bentinct Colliery on a panel 41 called Waterloo. He lived in Crees Yard Kirkby in Ashfield Nottinghamshire England UK. My Husbands name is Arthur Douglas Braithwaite. Harold was a cricketer,and played Bowls, for The Green Man Public House. at Kirkby in Ashfield. My Husband does not know any of his family, can anyone help us?. Margaret and Doug.
