Looking for Carder Now IN Ohio Originally from England to Virg

I am looking for information on my family. My great Grandfather was John Melvin Carder from Continental Ohio. I believe the family immigrated from England to Virginia in the late 1700s. We are planning to trip to England and I would so like to find where my family is from.
