Mum says she lived in sidcup all her life - she got rid of her 2nd husband(alcoholic) which makes the 3rd marriage most likely. I have her birth as 9 Dec 1902 which suggests that she did die in 1985 in Bexley.
Alexander's death cannot be the right person - decades too late
Robert S Dougal - unlikely as birth and marriage are in same quarter. Mum would have known that
It is not overly important so i am going with her 3rd marriage and her death

I learnt later today that the son was born and named Archibald and born most likey 1941 or 42 but i could find no trace

thanks for the help with Catherine's later life as mum never saw her after 1952

AS - The son i mentioned called Archibald was of course referring to Eileen Dorcas Heselden's son in 1941 (she was only 16 as they say)

Robert S Dougal is he related to your family in anyway his mothers maiden name was Toogood

I had the same thought as Wizaed28 I think you might find that Robert S Dougal is Catherines & Alexanders son, born prior to their marriage.

The death of Alexander Dougal 1947 Surrey that Wizard28 found, why is it "decades too late"?? do you know Alexanders birth year from the Marriage?

I couldn't find any Archibald Walker mothers name Heselden or Haselden 1940-1950 only Adrian V Walker 1944 that Wizard28 posted.

Hello again asheppard and i had better thank wizard28 (who apparantly resides in Liverpool)

I plead guilty to being confused after all day on the computer and on the phone to my mum. (I have a science degree majoring in maths so i shouldn't have made that conclusion)

My mum being 88 could be confused as well - you are probably correct in coming up with Robert S Dougal. I will follow up that line of thought and put it to mum. She knew Catherine (called Auntie Kit) at the time but lost all contact in 1952 when she emigrated to Aust (with 2 yo me). She will be happy that she remarried for a 3rd time and lived till 1985. Mum's memory of Catherine booting out Alexander for being an alcoholic probably increases the chance that he is the one who died in 1947.

Having rethought i have come to the conclusion i must only ask for help with 1 person and not 2.
I think i had Catherine and Eileen Dorcas mixed up in my mind as well

it appears Catherine and Alexander Dougal married in 1937 having a son Robert S Dougal
She then kicked Alex out and he died in 1947.
Meanwhile Eileen Dorcas Heselden marries at 16 to a Archibald Walker in 1941. The son (according to Mum) is named Archibald after the father.
As he would be my 3rd cousin "x" times removed it really isn't that important
I am 99.9% confident that Catherine married this Brooks fellow in 1955 and died in 1985 in Bexley aged 83.
