Thomas CONNOLLY b:1836c d:1921 in Learmonth, Vic, Australia.
We think his father's name was also Thomas but ni idea what his mothers name was.
He married Matilda Payne in Kamptee,India 11th Oct 1861, while stationed there. Matilda was born 1844 in India,
he father was George PAYNE ni idea of her mothers name.
Private Thomas Connolly arrived at the Port of Melbourne on the Ship "The Pera" with his Wife, three children and one Infant, the Commander of the Pera was R. Methven.
Departing from Bombay, India at 4.45pm 13th of December 1873 they arrived in Melbourne, Australia at 10.30am 10th of Jan 1874 and there he continued to live in Victoria for 49yrs.
They had 4 children in India and another 7 children here in Australia.
I would very much like to find information on his life in Co Armagh, the way he lived and why did he join the armed forces.
