Looking for Cornelius Possibly Charles Galbraith of Centre Pennsylvania

Cannot find him prior to 1870 census nor after. Found a Charles Galbraith who came from Ireland during the famine to New York. He was born the same year as Cornelius. The reason I am considering Charles as a possible ancestor is that Charles is a name that has been passed down. Cornelius' son's name was Clair Charles Galbraith. This branch of the family had a penchant for handing down names and it seems too much of a coincidence that the pieces should fit together so nicely. I need help to find ways to confirm my thinking. 1870 census says he was born in PA. But I can't find one record of him existing there prior to 1870.
