Looking for Edward HANSEN from Moss, NORWAY

Query by ladywell05

Edward or Edvard as he was known in Norway was born on 18 January 1849 in Moss, Norway. He was illegitimate. His mother was Anne Marie Olsdatter born about 1808 in Sweden. His father was Hans Jensen (Kjos),it is thought (Kjos) was maybe a farm name. Edward had a sister named Inger Andrea Erichsen also illegitimate, her father was Erich Erichsen, Inger had a son Edvin Christiansen(illegitimate) 4 August 1856, his father was Hans Christian Olsen. On 29 September 1860 Inger had a daughter Josephine Olava Christiansen, Inger and Hansen Christian Olsen married on 12 February 1860 in Moss Church,County Ostfold, Norway.

On 23 December 1868 Edward arrived in Australia on board barque BOY-BENDIXEN. Edward would have been about 19 at the time, so possibly he was a "ships boy". On 18 January 1869 (Edwards birthday)Boy-Bendixen sailed without Edward.

On 31 August 1872, in Brighton, Vic. Australia, Edward married Ellen Walsh. Ellen was born in Thomastown, County Kilkenny, Ireland. Ellen arrived in Australia with her parents Thomas Walsh and Bridget Hennessy and sisters. I think she arrived on board boat Black Eagle but can't find her with rest of family.

Edward and Ellen had 10 children.
