Hi,
I was looking for Bradley family on familysearch.org ages ago and cannot seem to locate John and Elizabeth Bradley (nee Nash) I have possibly found my gr gr grandfather (son of the above) aged 7 living in Birmingham at St Martin and also a John Bradley aged one yrs at the same address. I don't have access to the records.I am puzzled as to why I cannot locate John who's occupation was a barber and also the marriage of John and Elizabeth Bradley. I have been informed they may have emigrated to Australia when George was 7. Plus the birth of George as well - CONFUSED!!!! George married and died in Aust. I know some kind person was looking, but thought I would post this info again
Thanks!

I'm assuming you mean the parents of George Charles Bradley 1834-1892

Queensland BD&M
1892/C2724 George Charles Bradley John Elizabeth

George Charles Bradley died in Roma, Queensland on the 6 August 1892
He was a barber/hairdresser as well. He's buried at the Roma General Cemetery,Lewis Street, Roma Queensland.
Says on the headstone " born in Birmingham died 6 - 8 - 1892 grandfather of Edward McKnight"

Am I with the right family here? Let me know. I'll give you a hand.

Hi there Janilye and thanks for reply!
Yes, that is correct I am looking for the parents of George Charles Bradley. Yes again...the info at Roma is correct as I am in touch with a relation who gave me the info regarding the death of George and his marriage in Roma. I have the marriage certifiate. I also have a photo of his barber shop in Roma (not a good a one - but a photo at least!) George states he was born in Birmingham on his marriage certificate. I am hoping to find info regarding the family's arrival from UK to Aust. Sources have told me George was a boy of 7 yrs. when he arrived.
Okay thanks...see what you can dig up
Cheers!

I'm looking for an immigration record before he was married in 1877. If he arrived at 7 he didn't arrive alone.

Below are Queensland deaths for Bradley 1840 to 1900;

1897/C629 Elizabeth Jane Bradley
William Bradley
Ellen Bell

1859/B336 Elizabeth Bradley
Bernard McConnologue
Elizabeth - ** born Ireland aged 50 years

1880/C2141 John Bradley
Thomas Bradley
Mary Clifton

1876/B10611 John Keen Bradley
George Bradley Rachel
Matilda Keen

1890/C2403 John Bradley
James Bradley
Mary McGlynn

1893/C1529 John Bradley - - no other information

1892/C4138 James John Bradley
Patrick Richard Bradley
Annie Birmingham * this shows mother as Annie Birmingham not Annie from Birmingham, however, I believe it's worth looking at.

1873/C90 John Bradley
Samuel Bradley
Jane Stone

1900/C1393 John Arthur Bradley
Arthur Bradley
Lucy Porter

1888/C4007 John Bradley - Ellen Bradley ** now Foo Hang - born Queensland aged 7 months

1865/M133 John Bradley - -
** born Ireland aged 28 years

Of course they could have died in NSW. Perhaps it was only George Charles who went to Queensland.
Finding the immigration record is the first thing we need.
I'll have a search tonight for you.

Okay thanks again for your help. My Grandma Mona Egan was a Bradley and I am tracing the family tree on my Dad's side the last 3 years. I have gathered alot of info on many family lines, but of course there's always a few brick walls along the way! I just need to organise it all properly when I find the time! Also lucky to have found distant cousins along the way too and that is great as we share info - great fun! I want to find out as much as I can for myself and my Dad before he passes away.
Good luck and thanks again
I shall hear from you again soon
P.S A man tracing the tree also tell me perhaps the family came to Victoria - another place to search
