I couldn't find a George Nicol to Janet Waddell marriage in Berwickshire between 1860-1870, perhaps the surname spelling is different.

Do you have any further details on George, occupation, fathers name and occupation any Census records for Berwickshire?

thanks for trying but I already have this info. I can find no trace of janet after 1991 census or of the rest of the family after an advert in 1878 in greenlaw for G
george 's bakery.
janet waddell's brother died in Australia so I think they may have emigrated there as well
I omitted their youngest son alexander b 1874 also mis-spelt Nichol-so many different spellings

thanks for replying I already have all the early info on this family .The last trace of George is an advert in 1878/79 for a bakers shop opening in greenlaw Berwickshire they are not in the 1881 census Daughter janet always lived with her grandmother but cannot find her after 1891 census

janet waddell's brother james(?)died in Australia 1880/82 so maybe that's where they went

Related to James Nicol - Spelling changed to Nicholl when they arrived in Port Elizabeth South Africa. Will sent you more information
