I have found a bit more out and this might help? I have a Joseph Butt as the father of Mary Jane Butt who married into my Beeso Family in Harbour Grace.

Now Mary Jane Butt was born in 1865, I have some details of her Wedding to Michael Beeso.

The listing for her wedding says the following...
18 Feb 1889 Joseph Beeso 25, bachelor, Labourer, Harbour Grace (groom father)Michael Beeso, Labourer (Mother) Mary Jane Butt 23, spinster, Harbour Grace( bride father) Joseph Butt (witnesses)Samuel Lilly, Tryphena Pretty

I have some letters from Mary Jane to my Grandma, in one she says she lost a sister aged 55 in 1951 and also her dad (Joseph Butt) lost a sister in 1951, her husband was in Dauphin and was 82 in 1951.

Hope this might help as this is all the info I have on the Butt family and as you can tell it is pretty sketchy!
