MATTHEW HUNTER BRYSON is a son of Robert and Sarah (Hunter) Bryson, and was born in Laurens, South Carolina, March 29, 1817; moved to Lexington District, and was probably ordained an elder in the A. R. Church there. It is thought that he, at an early day, joined the A. R. Church in Laurens. Married Miss Mahala Pulliam, of Abbeville, November 16, 1840; moved to Oktibbeha county, Mississippi; thence to Tippah county, Mississippi, where Mrs. Bryson died July 10, 1852. He married Miss Emily Bryson March 10, 1853; moved in 1853 to Pontotoc county; was elected an elder at Bethany, April, 1854. Died November 24, 1862, aged forty-four years, seven months and twenty-five days. Mrs. Bryson died January 25,1878... I believe at one point they went through Alabama also
